The major attractions of tourists visiting the park are the numerous migratory birds, which come from as far away as Siberia and Central Asia and spend their winters in Bharatpur, before returning to their breeding grounds. Migratory birds at Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary include, several species of Cranes, Pelicans, Geese, Ducks, Eagles, Hawks, Shanks, Stints, Wagtails, Warblers, Wheatears, Flycatchers, Buntings, Larks and Pipits etc.
During our tours we visited Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary where the kids enjoyed the scenic beauty of the marshy wetlands. We were guided and assisted by a guide who told us various things about the sanctuary. It was an amazing thing to know that these marshy lands dry up during the hot and extreme summers. The lakes dry up and the birds fly away from the sanctuary making it deserted.
The kids traveled around and enjoyed looking around the birds and marshy lands. Through this visit the kids witnessed the effect of hot weather on water and the adverse effect on the birds and plants . Thus inspiring them to save water to give life to others!
